Holy Wounds Apostolate, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Wisconsin in 1988. It is a "Not For Profit" corporation (501(c)(3)) organized for charitable, religious, educational and scientific purposes, including the promotion of devotion to Jesus Christ Crucified and Risen. Lent of 1989, Holy Wounds provided FREE OF CHARGE the "Passion of Christ" and "Glorious Mystery" videos, as well as devotional materials to hundreds of Catholic Schools throughout the United States upon their request. During "Desert Storm" tens of thousands of packets containing the Green Scapular, Miraculous Medal and prayer books were supplied to our servicemen through Catholic Chaplains. St. Joseph Family Video Store was opened in 1993. The video store provides over 3700 religious and family orientated videos and books to the public. In cooperation with TAN Books and Publishers of Rockford, Illinois, 6 million copies of "Wonders of the Holy Name" booklet have been shipped worldwide in two languages. In 1996 Holy Wounds manufactured and distributed as inserts in "Wonders of the Holy Name" booklets over 750,000 English and 181,000 Spanish green scapulars to individuals in the United States as well as foreign countries.15,950 requests for Five Free Gifts from our Blessed Mother have been processed. The Five Free Gifts packet included: a Miraculous Medal and flyer, St. Benedict Medal and flyer, Green and Brown Scapulars with a flyer and a copy of "Wonders of the Holy Name" booklet. To date 250,000 Spiritual Gift Envelopes have been distributed. Each envelope includes; Holy Face of Jesus, Value of Suffering, and St. Michael flyers, Respect His Holy Name prayer card and The Fifteen Promises of Mary to Christians Who Recite the Rosary. During Lent of 1996, 2,000 Leaflet Missal prayer books were given to many Catholic Schools in Central Wisconsin and an additional 8,000 fulfilling individual requests. Holy Wounds also distributes other FREE literature, prayer cards and rosaries to schools and churches including the Holy Face of Jesus flyer and Value of Suffering flyer, St. Joseph and St. Michael prayer cards and 11" X 17" "Moses and the Ten Commandments" posters. Holy Wounds also provides sacramentals and prayer books free of charge to thousands of inmates in various U.S. Prisons, and individuals in India, Africa, Cuba, Australia, West Indies, Philippines, Europe, Canada and South America. |
